Paintings & drawings

This is my first painting of hills. It
shows shadowing.

This is my money drawing.
I chose Richard Pearse as the
person because he was a New
Zealander who flew a the first
motored plane. The plane next
to him is his plane. My bird was
the Moa because it is extinct and
I chose the fern because it grows
into a fern, so in a way it
represents young New Zealand.

This is my painting of some hills in
front of a sunset. The hills are shadowed.

Hoiho Call Onomatopoeia/Poem

I didn't finish colouring in
People came to the beach
The sun made them red.
Puew Puew Puew Puew Puew
The Hoiho said.

The surfers went into the water
But one of them hit his head.
Puew Puew Puew Puew Puew
The Hoiho said.

When it became afternoon there were fish and chips
Until everyone was well fed.
Puew Puew Puew Puew Puew
The Hoiho said.

Then the people headed home
So they could go to bed.
Puew Puew Puew Puew Puew
The Hoiho said.

I drew this because in the podcast the person talked about a fisherman composing a Karakia in the morning as he launched his boat, So, I drew him launching his boat in the morning.

Aeroplanes timeline, parts video & peer assessment

Timeline

Parts video

Self & peer assessment

I give myself Relational because I made a timeline and a video explaining the parts of a modern aeroplane.

Zayvier: I give you a Relational because I think you could have added more to the timeline and given more to the video.

  1. How to properly use the bandsaw and the sander, How to use a protractor and a compass, what a protractor is.
  2. We sanded the blocks too much so some had curved corners, making it hard to put the blocks together.
  3. We sanded the corners down with the sander.
  4. Cut them perfectly.

New Year's Eve Poem

New Year’s Eve Poem
For New Year's Eve, we have a party.
Sometimes at our house,
Other times, somewhere else.
The kids play and watch movies,
While the adults drink and chat.
Sometimes, we keep going till midnight.

Fifty fireworks fill the night sky, - Alliteration
Going, going, right up high.
When they go off, they are as loud as a gunshot. - Simile
My ears ring so much they will explode.  - Hyperbole
We have snacks,
And run around.
But sometimes instead,
After 9:00 we go straight home to bed.

The Magpies-Answers

  1. ‘The bracken made their bed’: They used bracken as bedding
  2. ‘Tom’s hand was strong to the plough’ He was strong enough to push the plough
  3. ‘But all the beautiful crops soon went / to the mortgage man instead’ They must of got a mortgage to buy the farm and had to pay it back with their crops
  4. ‘Old Tom’s gone light in the head’ Because he was getting old and because Elizabeth died he went a bit crazy
  5. ‘The farm’s still there. Mortgage corporations / couldn’t give it away’ The farm was so old and wrecked the bank couldn’t sell it because of its disastrous state
Why do you think this changed in the last stanza? Because it was the end of the poem so it ended differently
Do you think this is a sad or happy poem? Why? Sad, because Tom and Elizabeth wanted a nice life but couldn’t make one because they owed the bank money and other bad things happened

Sausages and Mash camp cooking reflection

For this task, I put myself on Multistructural.

I put myself here because: I didn't do very much in my group because there were to many people in my group. I tried to help where I could. I also did washed some dishes.

What I could improve on: I could try and work out our group so everyone got a chance to do something. I could encourage my teammates to get more involved.

Team Logo

This is my Team's logo.  It is a llama on a motorcycle. The background is mountains and ground. It was hard to draw but easy to paint. I did the banners. They were hard.
